Abak Green Environmental Consulting is a licensed environmental consulting office approved by the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), based in Al Malaz, Riyadh, and the environmental arm of ABAK Engineering Consulting. We serve facilities that need an environmental permit or its renewal, compliance reports, an environmental management plan, or help with a violation or inspection findings. This article explains exactly what you get when you work with us, from the first message to annual follow-up.

Why it matters that the office is licensed

Because the Environment Law's regulations require plans, studies and measurements submitted to NCEC to come from a licensed service provider: Category 1 environmental management and rehabilitation plans, EIA studies, environmental audit studies and contaminated site remediation plans. An unlicensed office, or one licensed for a scope that does not cover your project, may mean your file is rejected from the start.

Who we serve

Any facility whose activity is expected to have an environmental impact, new or existing, including:

  • Factories, including those in Riyadh's industrial cities.
  • Contractors, construction projects and residential developments.
  • Auto workshops, car washes and fuel stations.
  • Restaurants, food factories, and cold and dry warehouses.
  • Hospitals, medical complexes, clinics and laboratories.
  • Waste management companies, quarries and crushers, and poultry projects.

Your journey with Abak Green in five stages

  1. Initial review (before any commitment): you send us your activity, city and size. We tell you whether your activity needs an environmental permit, the expected category (Category 1 lowest impact, Category 2 moderate, Category 3 highest), the related requirements and the factors that could raise the category.
  2. Preparing the file: we complete the classification form and prepare documents, then prepare the environmental management plan and rehabilitation plan for Category 1 activities, and manage the EIA file for Categories 2 and 3.
  3. Submission and follow-up: we submit the application and follow review comments until the permit is issued. The classification decision comes within 10 working days, and the published approval times are 15 days for Category 1, 40 for Category 2 and 85 for Category 3.
  4. After issue: we hand you an organized environmental file, a calendar of report, measurement and renewal dates, and the record templates you will need at inspection.
  5. Annual follow-up (optional): under the annual environmental compliance contract we prepare self-monitoring reports, update records, coordinate measurements, prepare renewal ahead of time and support you during inspections.

What sets us apart

  • A verifiable license: we give you our license number so you can check it yourself in NCEC's qualified providers list.
  • One environmental and engineering file: as part of ABAK Engineering Consulting, we combine the environmental permit with safety drawings and building permits when needed.
  • Content based on official sources: we explain the law and its regulations before asking anything of you, and our blog is an open reference for that.
  • Follow-up that does not end at issue: we remind you of deadlines and prepare renewal and audits ahead of time.
  • Site visits: from our Riyadh office to your facility, because a good plan starts on site, not on a template.

What we need from you to start

  • Your activity type and a short description of its operations.
  • The city and site, whether it is in an industrial city, and what surrounds it (homes, schools).
  • The approximate size: area, production capacity or number of units.
  • Whether the activity is new or existing, and whether it has a previous permit.
  • Any notice or findings you have received from a regulator.

With this information we give you a clear initial review: whether your activity needs a permit, the expected category, the requirements and the next steps.
